Adirondacks drought question for fall foliage

We were planning on shooting in the Adirondacks this early fall (September 22- Oct 10) and then move on to western PA. However we have recently seen a couple of very negative reports about large areas already losing leaves and of brown leaves etc... which are quite discouraging. Any members here with some insight they could share. Our possible backup plan was to drive the Lake Superior loop. We have only done the UP area previously. There does not appear to be any drought issues there. We are coming from North Carolina. https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?Northeast

Hey Craig,

Good question there. I might be around that area a bit the beginning of Oct, so that would be some good information to know.

If you have only done the UP area, then you need to go to the North Shore drive along Lake Superior in Minnesota. It's such a cool drive, fall colors everywhere, and once you get about half way up it, there is literally a waterfall every 10 miles. It's like a stretched out version of the Columbia River Gorge.

Here is the link to a video I did of it.

Thanks for the info. If we went up, I figured we would do the whole thing - Canada too. Any experience with that?
