Maple Kaleidoscope

Japanese Maples are such cool trees. It's interesting that in Minnesota the Maples lost their leaves almost 2 months ago, and here yours just recently turned?

I like these, and it makes me wish that sometime I could squeeze in a trip to Portland to capture the famous one there.

Thanks Jim - peak color on ours was a few weeks ago and the last of the leaves got ripped off with a storm this last week. @MonikaC went to the Portland Japanese Garden to shoot the maple a few years back and had to have a reservation (!) for peak colors. I almost renewed my Photo membership this fall but didn't have the time to really use it so I passed for this year.

With the early hours for members, I'm not sure that the light is prime, but then, you won't have to wait in line with those behind you pressuring you to get your shots & move on. Early-mid-Nov seems idea. I think that people behind me were grousing that there weren't the reds weren't as dominant as they wished and should have come later. With it being in a tended garden, drought isn't an issue. But it is a "point & shoot" situation.

Sounded more to me like "point, shoot, & get out of the way" 😁
