Thursday’s Task

Nice - you picked the best examples for this one. The rest of us will have to work harder :)
I’m sure if you chose the same locations above, you would surpass mine—as would the other great photographers here on FocalWorld. This a very talented group and I’m often learning to “see” as they do from their posted images.

Larry, beautiful two color landscapes you’ve shared! Thank you! The first image of the juniper is a great capture of the many branches in the midst of green. Nice. Love the local garden image too, nice contrast of the yellow-orange against the greens. Very pretty. And oranges of the sunset over over the bay’s blues creates a memorable image. Nice. My favorite is your last image of the greens and whites of the aspen grove—I love this composition. Very nice.

I tried to see what I could find in my stash that really just had two colors in the frame. I might have taken a few liberties on how wide a swath on color wheel you could include and still say it constitutes one color

Ken, exquisite landscapes you’ve shared with primarily two colors—thank you for sharing each of these. I especially favor the NE England coast image and the Cumbria image with moon—my favorite. Love this composition in its perfect simplicity of elements. The Skye and the other Cumbria image are also well seen scenes and provide the viewer with more foreground detail adding interest to each. Very nice!

Alan, quite the variety of images you provided for this week’s Task, and all are quite beautiful. I like the two “red rock” abstracts from the Painted Hills and Valley of Fire—nice! The sunrise and sunset captures are perfect images for this Task. Your Harris Beach images are always well captured and gorgeous—and this image is no exception. The Silver Falls image with the moss covered branch creates a memorable composition. Very nice. And the Bryce Queen’s Garden Trail of orange and blue is perfect for this week’s Task. Bryce is always nice. I love the Dahlia bloom, the last image, love the red rimmed orange petals that create a perfect closure to your post. Very nice too.

Jameel, thank you for sharing these wonderful and varied captures for this Task. I like the tulip field choice—love the “ordered” colors. Quite nice! The Painted Hills composition captures bands of two colors, creating an interesting abstract. Also very nice. The “Blue and Gold” image is perhaps my favorite, another perfect abstract composition. Gorgeous. The Death Valley image is a very nice capture as well with the sunlit and shadow overlapping layers of gold against the blue sky. Nice as well. Thanks again for sharing Jameel.
