It’s Winged Wednesday—where feathers, flutters, and flight steal the show! Whether they’re soaring, skimming, stalking, or just pretending to know what they’re doing… birds, bugs, bats, or anything with wings—if it flies, it belongs here.
Always open theme. All winged photos welcome.
This week, my contributions are yard birds.
Which sounds peaceful, and sometimes is—right up until something starts yelling, chasing, stealing, or making eye contact like it pays the mortgage.
Turns out you don’t need to travel far to find personality. You just need a chair, a camera… and the willingness to be judged by something weighing three ounces.
Gambel’s Quail
Hair like a question mark. Behavior like the answer is “run.”
Juniper Titmouse
Looks soft. Thinks loud.
Ladder-backed Woodpecker
Headbanging professionally since before it was cool.
Verdin
Tiny, energetic, and absolutely certain it’s in charge.
Orange Sulpher (neighbor's yard)
Nature’s version of, “I’ll just sit here and pretend I belong.”
