Plenty of Water

And no shortage of photo ops at Burney Falls in Northern California.

Hi Michael! What a gorgeous black and white conversion, this really works.

I've actually been to Burning quite a few times myself, and my relationship with it has evolved every visit. The first time, I was completely overwhelmed , the place is just massive, and I remember standing there a little stunned. Then the mist got the better of me and soaked all my gear (lesson learned the hard way).

By my second and third trips, I'd switched to a telephoto lens to pick out details from a safe, dry distance. Next time, I think I'm ready to get right up close to the falls and go for tight, intimate crops which is exactly the kind of composition you've nailed here.

Thanks for sharing this,it's got me itching to go back

I like this one in B&W - its places all of the focus on the cascades of water.
Thanks Alan. This is the one place in California that I think is wet enough.

Thanks Oliver, the trail that descends beside the falls is perfect for a 70-200mm. It's almost like cheating having so many good vantage points with so little hiking.
