This is a member of the Coneflower family (Rudbeckia) that almost reminded me of a rusty Black-eyed Susan.

Thanks Jameel - the notion of rust here was simply my impression of this coneflower variant and not a real name I found for it online. I never did find an example with these colors in searches.
