Quiet Night...

What a blast, I've never done street photography at night before. This is the courthouse in Montrose, Co. I wanted to get some car trails, but it's a tough go when you only get one car going be every five minutes or so, plus the 15 degree temp was a little rough on the fingers during the wait...but I can't wait to do it again!

It was a spear of the moment though, I was heading out to snap some sunrise shots...which didn't pan out.

I think you are supposed to be in some kind of metropolitan area for good car light streaks. The star burst effect from the streetlights seems a bit on the strong side.

This is pretty neat! It looks like you really stopped down the aperture, so it looks really sharp. Be careful at night, cars cant see you very well and weirdos seem to come out of the woodwork !

I'll have to try it next time I'm in Salt Lake or Vegas, but that won't be any time soon. As for the street lamps, I took 46 images all with the same look, and that's directly out of the camera.

Thanks for your advice David, I'll keep that in mind. Camera settings were f/9.5, 2 sec. at ISO-200 (EOS-R).
