Mamma Don't Take My Kodachrome Away

Apologies to Paul Simon & Garfunkel for the thread title. This is a small scene in Kodachrome Basin taken some years ago. Interesting place but not an easy target for photographers in spite of the name the park was given. I will confess to reaching a bit trying to find worthwhile comps along the park trails. This was one of the more promising captures I ended up with.....

C&C always welcome.

I hear you on Kodachrome Basin being tough to get a good comp. I like yours however and Amy's has a lot to recommend it.

I loved my visit there a number of years ago. Lots of formations and dramatic landscapes to shoot, but as you say, hard capture just right. I don't think I came away with anything that has stood the test of time. That said, I like this. Personally I think I would keep the weathered wood on both sides since they frame the rock.

Thanks - framing the rock with the dead wood was the goal when I shot this.
