I did my first trip to Alaska last summer and one of the biggest surprises was this National Monument which I had not heard of before. It is essentially Yosemite with water filling the bottoms of the valleys complete with exfoliation domes, hanging valleys, and tree covered vertical walls. We were very fortunate that the weather was only partly cloudy. In most cases it is socked in with clouds and fog.
This is one of the steep walls with a waterfall. There is also one in the distance.
This is a section named Mossy Wall for obvious reasons. It serves as a rookery for many seabirds.
This one shows classic examples of exfoliation domes like Sentinel Dome in Yosemite.
This is a remnant volcanic neck called New Eddystone Rock near the entrance of the fjords.
