Good morning - time for another Wednesday waterfall fest.

My set for today is a little different in that it has a historical bent involved. Be kind on your critique for this set - this set of falls is the first time I ever got to visit real waterfalls with a camera in hand so I wasn't really aware of long shutter speeds and the likes yet. The slides I digitized these images from show dates on the mounts for 1967 so technically they are antiques now.

First up is Havasu Falls.

This next one is a shot from the top of Mooney Falls:

My camera at the time was a twin lens reflex Rolleiflex and I discovered that I could not fit all of Mooney Falls in the frame from below. I took two shots of the falls that turned out to be stitchable in Photoshop so this is probably the first panorama I ever took.

Sorry about how tall that image turned out.

Pile on your own falling water.

Lake Creek (original name) flows out of Triangle Lake, west of Eugene, Oregon. In the summer the spot is known for the water slide effect that enable folks to surf on their butts a few hundred feet through small rapids, at least that was the case many years ago...

I love the red leaves in this one Zeph. Not a common color for NW woods in the fall.

The Rolleiflex TLR was my first camera (technically not my own but I borrowed my grandfathers). Only shot B&W with it and developed it myself. It was quite a thrill.

Nice images.

I remember that! It just wasn’t nearly as pretty when I was there. And it wasn’t exactly a comfortable ride down that slab!
