Waterfall day is here so let's see some falling water.
Yesterday started out with miserable air quality conditions (AQ index of 160) out along the Oregon coast due to wildfire smoke filtering up from California so shooting anything with grand vistas was a washout. I decided to go up to Sweet Creek for more intimate scenes. From what I could see driving down to Florence on Sunday what was left of fall colors were quite drab and the Siuslaw River itself looked like it has even less water than a few weeks ago so I didn't have high hopes. I could not have been more wrong. There has been just enough rain to recharge Sweet Creek's waterfalls and as it turned out the maples along the creek had gone nuts. Combined with the hazy orange skies I got a color show the likes of which I have never seen in the coast range mountains before. This is the first of many images I shot while wandering up and down the trails there.
Pile on with your own waterfalls
