End of a long day

In Utah the days now are a bit longer than they are for me in almost southern California. This was around 8:30 PM about two weeks ago. The last splat of color.

I love that last splat of color Jeffrey! That’s some cool color surrounded by some interesting clouds. If a day has to end? This is the way to end it.

Jim, this was the Thursday I met up with you. I had just survived two tortuous days of simply waiting for vehicle repair in the 96 degree St. George heat. Got back to running fine and after our meet, headed out to find my researched locations around Hanksville. I found them and made some great images and drone flights. Had this wonderful sunset and a fine morning the next day. By then I forgot about the broken truck.

I like the skies in this a lot. A very pleasant way to end the day. I like the results of your research as this is a really nice vista.

I carry a lot of tools on trips to fix things on the fly but major mechanicals on a diesel are entirely out of my league and would require me to seek out a mechanic.

Alan, I also carry tools, recovery gear and some parts. When I'm off in a canyon or out in the desert, I am out of touch. I needed a vacuum pump in St. George. I now have a spare one in the van.

Jeffrey, this is fantastic light and I love the way you saw this. I was there and doing my own thing but never figured out a composition like this. But I watch and learn (a bit).

That's the same way my spare parts collection has grown as well when things break buy and carry a spare.

It's pretty easy to go off the grid in the western states and that's where the Good Places(TM) for solitude exist. The Instagramers can't stand being somewhere without a signal so its kind of like a reverse electric fence that usually keeps them out

Solitude is nice until the mobility that got you there doesn't work. You are better off than me for getting service in odd places since there are a lot more mechanics that can work your drivetrain and your rig is easier to tow.

I just found this same cloud in my collection, you sure worked it a lot better than I did. Your advice to exclude stuff is not lost on me, but is difficult to learn.

Not for this one. Being on the edge looking over a huge and deep remote area can give that impression. Canon 5dsr, 70-200 lens.

Love that lighting, Jeffrey, and that splash of color and mood in the sky are sweet!
