Drizzle in the Palouse - edits added

Just to tag on to Alan's thread....
As I was driving to Northern Idaho, I passed the Palouse exits (that's one of the things about driving with GPS only: I have no idea what's around the route selected, sort of like driving with blinders on. After having enough of the rain in Idaho, I decided to make my way to my friends' house in Bend, OR, stopping at the Palouse on the way. Of course, once I got there, it started to drizzle and the light was horribly flat. Beggars can't be choosers, so this is what I got.
C&C welcome for rescuing these shots

You got some nice shapes and patterns in the first one. Hard to avoid the dust levels in the fall. I suspect it would take a lot more than a drizzle to chase those farmers out of their fields.

My own shots of that area end up with flat looking light and when you look at a histogram of the exposure everything is bunched up in the middle. I don't really see a true black in the first image so you might get some more color in the scene by bringing down the black level. The texture and clarity sliders in either ACR or Lightroom can also help cut the haze.

Very interesting shots Monika. You could have used #1 for the Scale contest of The Recipe this last week. I like the layers in #3.

These are great, need some punch, cropwise i would consider loosing about 30% of the top in 1st and 2nd, and 30% of the bottom in the last, as well as cloning out the cut off tree group out of lasts top.

Cheers.

Some nice textures there Monica. And some dust, must not have been too wet.

Nice textures and shapes. Classic Palouse.

Except I probably hadn't taken them by then...

Thanks, everyone. I'll work on all of those tomorrow after I get back home.
