The title refers to the white ring around the bird's eye, they are known as Silvereyes or Waxeyes, tiny and agile they are a pest for grape farmers, this one is feasting on a small orange. I believe they came to NZ from Australia, now a common sight in New Zealand.
Spotted in one of my plant pots, this little flower looks happy despite the low temperatures we are having. I hand-held the camera with the kit lens and the Raynox 250, it was needed because the purple flower is only 2 cm across, the seed was in a mixed flower sachet so I don't know what it is...
A visiting C5A Galaxy taking off on a very foggy morning many years ago, I was waiting at the end of the active runway with my trusty Minolta X500. on hearing its approach I was ready and managed one shot, a rapid wind on, point and fire, not knowing what I had got until the film was processed...
Who knows? Because it was there I guess, or was it because I was bored, anyway there is something about it that prevents me from deleting it, was it worth shooting, what do you think?
A nice change, landscapes do not need to be vast areas of real estate and mountains, Waterfalls are a subject that will not please everybody, I don't like milky ones yet others do, Thanks for showing your pic's, more please.
A trip to the local shops on this cold miserable morning with my old TZ10 hondy, surprising what you can find to photograph, I will make the same trip again and find more images in a weeks time,
The id of this shrub in my garden has me puzzled, some say it is a cassia, others a Senna, It is about 25 feet tall and the flowers are too big for it to be a golden shower tree, any Ideas?
Amazing, but certainly not a contrail, they only occur at high-level. my example took me by surprise and I couldn't get to high ground to do it justice
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
