The colors never went nuclear, but as I was driving back from Denver to my daughters house in Northern Colorado I knew I had to pull over and take some photos. I really like the almost peek a boo coloring, with the sunset colors in the background with other clouds obscuring them at points. It...
This is from 2 weeks ago out at Trona Pinnacles in California. I had my timelapses going on 3 different cameras, but I kept my Nikon Z6III with the Sigma 14mm f1.4 lens to run around with and do pano's and such once the Milky Way rose. So this is one of them.
It's a 5 frame vertical pano
Nikon...
I got an email today that Theodore Roosevelt NP wants to license one of my timelapses I captured there a couple of years ago. That's pretty cool to hear.
I haven't licensed any of my photography in quite a few years. If anyone has thoughts on it, or links to forms, that would be great. I am not...
Well, the stars shine! The person that decided to capture the Milky Way next to me commented just how bright it was there at night. I am not sure this is correct, but it always felt correct to me. This is what I told him.
The darker the skies are, the brighter the stars are. So even without a...
Most of us know of the Bentonite Hills, they aren't too far out of Hanksville Utah. They are just past the Mars Research Center off of Cow Dung Road. This isn't exactly as I had visualized it, but still I got the main intent of looking down on the rings of some hills.
I mostly had the place to...
It's funny that this bird (I still need to ID it), took off, skimmed over the lake for about 30 feet then came in for a landing. But what was weird to me was that it was running on the water as it slowed down. I thought it would have just landed on it's belly. But then I am not a birder, so I...
I got another lucky image during my grandsons soccer practice last Tuesday. It's at a lake next to their practice fields in Northern Colorado. I love Redwing Blackbirds, they remind me of growing up in Minnesota.
Nikon Z8
Tamron 50-400mm

I captured this yesterday at a local park in Northern Colorado while taking my 2 youngest grandsons to their soccer practice. This park has a lake in it, and I have driven by it a lot, but never released it had so many birds there, I have a bunch of images I need to process and post from there...
Actually not sure if they call it that, but in Little League for baseball they do for that age.
Anyway, some photos of my grandson Liam playing soccer on Saturday. He had 2 games, so it's a combo of both games. My grandson just in case, is the one with the blonde hair and wearing the dark green...
On my way back to Colorado, my first stop was at the Trona Pinnacles for the Milky Way. I was running a bit late to get out on the road, but we had a family night at my sisters Suite at Angels Stadium. It was an awesome game, and we got free Mandalorian and Grogu Jerseys. But going to it...
This is from last night at the Bentonite Hills in Utah. There was some nice clouds at sunset that fortunately cleared up after sunset so I could capture the Milky Way and the Lyrids meteor shower.
iPhone 17 Pro since I am on the road.

Along the I-15 West of Baker in California there is an abandoned water park in the middle of the desert. It's covered in graffiti and a fun place to photograph. This isn't that, but on the way to my driving to it at sunset last night I saw this abandoned gas station, so I stopped to photograph...
A late night swim at Huntington Beach, California. This is from last week when I live streamed from the beach. It's fun that I can live stream and also take some photos. This is post sunset as it's starting to get a little darker.

This is from 2 weeks ago, a different angle. I am working on the batch of images from my astro modded Nikon Z6II.
I had the Nikon Z6II modded by Spencers Camera in Utah. I know quite a few people who have used them. Instead of just an Ha mod for the Astro, they do what's called a "Visible Light...
I was livestreaming on YouTube at Huntington Beach, California last night at sunset, but I still had my Nikon Z8 so I could take photos. I had seen a huge flock of Seagulls on the sand a little ways back from the beach. They were hunkered down, and I didn't want to disturb them. But about 30...
No colors tonight at sunset, the clouds forgot to show up. :)
But I still enjoyed the feel of it. This is from Huntington Beach, California. Captured with my iPhone 17 Pro.
I also shot with my Nikon Z8, but I am finding too many images that I like from it, so it's taking me forever to do the...
Here is one of the Timelapses from Cyclops Arch in the Alabama Hills from 2 weeks ago.
One of the things that amazed me was with the 25% moon, I liked how it lit up the ground layer in the beginning. But what kind of surprised me was just how fast once the moon set behind the Eastern Sierra...
This is from last week at Huntington Beach. I was livestreaming there on YouTube for about an hour around sunset and captured this at the same time.
This is pretty much SOOC, just a little crop and I removed two oil rigs from out in the water.

I was at Disney California Adventure livestreaming on Sunday night, it was about 8pm and in this one garden area they were backlighting these roses. I had to stop for a minute and capture 1 of them on my iPhone 17 Pro.
No editing except to downsize, so this is SOOC.

The other night (Friday) I was Live streaming on my YouTube Channel ( @focalworldphotography5322 ) the sunset at Huntington Beach. It wasn't a great one, but it was nice. It was nice as the incoming tide would rush up and over my feet as I stood there on the edge of the tide line.
Now the...
