    Ends Of The Earth

The day after our autumn wedding in Telluride, Colorado, my wife and I, and a couple of our friends, drove out to the Uncompahgre National Forest in the San Juan Mountains to do some camping as part of our unofficial honeymoon. The next morning I woke early to hike out to a nearby lake for...

    Waterfall World

After a little bushwhacking, we were treated to this rarely, if ever, visited location in Glacier National Park. Numerous waterfalls poured down from the massive cliffs that surrounded us, and we scoured the area for hours looking for the perfect compositions. Unfortunately most of the wild...

    Curious Pine Marten

A curious pine marten sitting atop an elk skull in western Montana. Just one of the many critters that stopped by to investigate the old skull. Captured with a remote DSLR camera trap that I put together last year.

    Iceberg's Bouquet

Thanks Kurt, this particular meadow was an assortment of arnica (yellow), monkey flower (magenta), and mountain aster (purple). Jim, this is indeed a focus stack. Can't remember exactly how many, but I want to say around 20 images. I also panned upwards horizontally and shot several more...

    Iceberg's Bouquet

Thanks Alan, yes it is. And I do agree with you that overcast light is good for some subjects, I was just hoping for some early morning light on the peaks, or some nice color in the clouds for sunset. At least there was a little definition in the clouds, rather than just flat overcast!

    Iceberg's Bouquet

The alpine wildflowers were spectacular this year in Glacier Park. I made several trips to the park earlier this year, and logged some serious trail mileage, chasing the blooms and the light. Here is one from the Iceberg Cirque. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate on this particular day...

    Firestorm

With a very low chance for auroras, and a high chance for smoke, I drove up to Glacier against my better judgement earlier this week..in hopes of getting lucky. When I got to the Flathead Valley the smoke was not too bad, relatively speaking, and I could see blue skies peaking through the haze...

    Joshua Tree Twilight

Jim this is really nice. Enjoying the composition here, and the twilight skies compliment it nicely. Very well done.

    Ghosts on the water ...

A striking scene, I'm really enjoying the abstract nature of this one.

    Li River Sunrise

    Nice layers and mood.

    Grandeur

Great looking spot, Ben, it looks like the perfect place to spend a day. I personally would like to see more of those beautiful canyon walls. The nearly centered horizon throws it off for me as is. Cropping to a panoramic format seems to help, but then of course you'll lose those nice looking...

    Badwater sunrise

Very nicely composed, Vieri, love the leading lines as you've presented them here.

    Fall Rain Forest

The rain forests of the pacific northwest are incredible places. Surprisingly, they are also very difficult to photograph! You did a nice job with the framing here Alan. I like how the greens in the immediate foreground contrast nicely with the yellow maple leaves.

    Burney Falls

Nice looking falls for sure, Kyle. It's neat the way the water runs through the porous rock face here. You might consider adding a bit of contrast to the trees across the top, as they look a tiny bit washed out in the small web version here.

"Terminus" - Glacier National Park, Montana

Many thanks to Jim for inviting me to join his newest venture. I'm looking forward to participating as much as I can here. Here is a hidden gem I came across while hiking in the mountains of Glacier National Park, in Montana, earlier this summer. As photographed of a place as Glacier Park is...
