I had some nice light at sunset a few years ago at this Northern California gem...
The water does actually come through the porous face of the rock wall. Great for detail shots too.Fascinating set of falls with all of the side flows. It is not readily visible how the water flows the width of the scene from the vantage point. It looks like small falls coming out of the rocks.
Thanks a lot Ben!This is a really neat looking waterfall and I really like your presentation with the clouds and shutter speed.
Good catch. It's taken some effort to control the contrast in this scene, and I'd agree the trees look a little flat. I'll play with that a little.Nice looking falls for sure, Kyle. It's neat the way the water runs through the porous rock face here. You might consider adding a bit of contrast to the trees across the top, as they look a tiny bit washed out in the small web version here.
Thank you Bill. It's a beautiful place. What an incredible waterfall.... Your choice of shutter speed really makes all the little streams quite dramatic. The pool of water below seems so colorful as well. Thanks so much for sharing this one.
Thanks Barry. A big part of that was just waiting until the sky darkened enough that I could reign in the contrast.Beautiful falls, but I'm most impressed with your light balance. The sky rendering is really great!
Thanks Jim. It is pretty far out of the way, but you can combine it with Lassen or Shasta.Hey Kyle,
This is a really cool waterfall. One that's been on my list for a while, but just haven't had the chance to stop and shoot it whenever I am going back and forth to Oregon/Washington. I am guessing after seeing your wonderful shot here that I need to move it up the list!
