This isn't Bisti Badlands in New Mexico, but it's not far from it. I had been up late shooting stars the night before and so when I woke before dawn and looked outside it was pretty cloudy and easy to talk myself into staying wrapped up in my sleeping bag. But the "What ifs" started nagging at...

During summer vacation last year I took some of the Grandkids up to Mt Rushmore and the Badlands in South Dakota. The grandkids are awesome outdoors, they enjoy exploring and seeing new things. They also are really good at sleeping in with their mom so that I can go out early and shoot sunrises...
