    Magic Tree

Hi, It's been a while since I have ben on here. Kind of been doing my own thing. Anyways, last friday Jim and I meet up in WY for the Northern Lights show. This is my take on the tree. #1 This was earlier in the night maybe 10:30 or 11. #2 this was later in the night when the color and...

    Photo OPS

Hi, as promised... There was so much to see and two to three hours later and I still felt like I could keep photographing here. This is what caught my eye as I was standing across the way with my 200mm lens. But as I watched what view I saw this tree.... Seasons Layers....

    Seasons Layers

Hi, I know it's been a long time since I have been on here. But I am back... I had a wonderful fall trip to SW CO my favorite part of CO. A little bit about this view. This is Crystal Lake off 550 "The Million Dollar Highway" from what I was told I didn't miss much of the sunrise "oh good" I...

    Maple Leaf

Detail on the maple tree next to my deck. The color has changed dramatically this week as wind and rain knocked most of the leaves off.

Magnificent Oak, Crescent Lake, Olympic NP

This huge oak is next to the boat launch parking lot at the west end of Crescent Lake in Olympic NP. To capture that long limb I had to do a pano.

Where Did You Go? + Edit

I ran up to Sequoia National Park yesterday. While I wanted to spend some time photographing the large trees there, I also wanted to capture some bears. Fortunately I know of an area where you can pretty consistently see them and capture them. In this case this year it was a mother Black bear...

    Tough Tree, Grand Canyon

Another lonely tree to add to our list. This turned out to be my favorite subject on our short winter visit this year.

    Maple Seed Pods

They seem to be esp. vibrant this year, but not sure if that's just because we are at home and seeing them every day right outside our dinning room window. It will be interesting to see how long the color show lasts.

    sky replacement fun

More playing around with Luminar sky replacement. I'm going think of this when shooting, good to look for trees against a bald sky, which is what I used here from the hike into The Wave. I always try to find such an element when shooting stars, but that is very difficult when trying for the MW...

    The Death Dance

There was a small wildfire that came through this area last year. Fortunately they caught it fast because the whole area is surrounded by houses. I run by this all the time, but the other day the tree looked like it was dancing. Or maybe I have just been locked up too long.... All comments are...
