2 From Independence Pass

So a trip to Independence Pass to attend a Milky Way Photography Workshop unfortunately did not produce any nightscape images when the clouds rolled in on us right as darkness fell. But those same clouds REALLY made for some jaw dropping color during the Golden Hour while we were waiting for the night to start and made the trip a success in spite of the clouds later on. here are the 2 captures I got that I really liked from this epic location.

Faint Rainbow

Late day sun splashes across the rocks and mountains as a faint rainbow shows itself during sunset at Independence Pass.

Purple Pass

The last light of day really produces some special colors in the sky at Independence Pass.

Mike, these are epic clouds.

You can always get the milky way on another night, but the rainbow & clouds don't come often.

Gorgeous clouds - that more than makes up for no MW that night. There's almost so much cloud color in the first image that the rainbow is nearly invisible - a nice problem to have

Those are awesome Mike! Sorry to hear about the night sky, but these colors more then made up for it!

This made me think that I need to start up doing photo workshops again now that the pandemic is over. I am want focusing on the Milky Way in my workshops before, but maybe I need to.

I do think you could do some epic Milky Way Photography workshops - that sounds like a super idea!
