2nd ranger battalion

i got a set of d-day soldiers from the second ranger battalion by crazy figures. i haven't had too much of a chance to play since i'm on my late shift rotation, but with d-day coming up, i had to do something.

i shot it a little lower than i should have. one cube light at the soldier's feet, pointed at a 45 degree angle up. canned smoke.

Looks like I didn't have to wait long to find out what else you were going to do with those lights. Nice effect.

thanks alan. for $34 the ulanzi cube light is pretty impressive. there's not much to the light, a single button that powers the unit on and off and cycles through 4 power levels. but it's fairly waterproof, comes with a bunch of light modifiers and a tripod mount. they have a few different lights, but this one is my go to light.

I really like that low down angle looking up. That can not be an easy angle or did you have the figures on a platform?

This is the light cube I have, I have 2 of them. I liked it that the WB was adjustable internally. But it's not waterproof like what you have.

Limited-time deal: ULANZI VL49 RGB Video Lights, LED Camera Light 360° Full Color Portable Photography Lighting w 3 Cold Shoe, 2000mAh Rechargeable CRI 95+ 2500-9000K Dimmable Panel Lamp Support Magnetic Attraction https://a.co/d/5KsmALs

What are the 4 power settings on yours? I like the one I got because I could take it down to 10% so I could use it for low level lighting at night.

thanks jim. the 4 power settings aren't really marked as to what they are. the light just gets brighter 4 times until it's back to the first setting. i have a few of the one you posted. it's a nice little light, but it's a little wider and needs a stand. the cube lights are easier to hide below, in grass or behind a figure.

this is the other light that i like a lot. it's ulanzi's mini light wand. it does a lot of what the one you posted does, but in a different shape.

I like that wand! That's pretty cool. The 90 min run time would be my issue. Unless it can be on while being charged.

pretty sure it can be used while charging, but i'll double check when i get a chance. it's probably my favorite of ulanzi's line up, but i use the cube light more often.

I just tested mine, I put it down to 1% brightness, and it has been on for 24 hours so far and the battery isn't even down to 3/4 yet. I hadn't used them since Wind River last August, so I had forgotten how good they were. My purpose of mine is different then yours, I want them for Low Level Lighting to use at night like I did to gently light up the inside of the cabin.
