A Beautiful Drive

After running up Hwy 128 from Moab and getting the Fisher Towers shot I posted yesterday, I continued up across the river and up to I-70. By that time it was raining pretty heavily up on the plateau and along 70 for quite a while on the way to Green River.
After stopping in Green River for breakfast and a visit to the John Wesley Powell Museum.....very interesting, by the way.....I turned south on Hwy 24 for one of the coolest drives I've ever made. All along the western side of the highway is the San Rafael Reef and these four images give a little taste of that scenery. And I was blessed with wonderful clouds all the way.
The first shows I-70 and the exit for Hwy 24, from the east bound lanes. The last one shows the Factory and North Caineville Buttes, behind Goblin Valley and with Capitol Reef NP in the far background.
Absolutely stunning scenery, and definite targets for my next visit to the area.

I-70 eastbound at the exit for Hwy 24.

Another view for Ben, Jim and Jeffrey. :) Goblin Valley with Factory and North Caineville Buttes and then Capitol Reef NP in the far bg.

Neat set I love that San Rafael swale.

Skyline overlook is about half way between you and factory butte from where you took the last image

Awesome work Barry! You have some really awesome clouds here. My favorite is #1. I do like the last one too that you dedicated to Ben, Jeffrey and me.
