"A Beautiful Light"

That's some very awesome light Amy! Really beautiful. I would crop just a bit off the bottom to lose that fallen tree/wood at the very bottom. Crop that off and the bottom becomes very clean.

That some neat lighting for these trees. I have to agree with Jim on cropping out that log at the very bottom. The light on the top branches with the dark clouds behind is a nice contrast.

Love the light/dark contrasts you have. Instead of a crop, maybe clone out the log? I think a crop would leave too little of the grass to balance your composition. Depends on your feelings of limits of manipulation in post, though. Or you could burn it a bit as in vignette, which might even emphasize the light on the leaves.

Beautiful light Amy.. I might just crop about 1/2 the grass area on the bottom.. The forest is the forest and I think sometimes we try to sanitize our pictures to much. It would be great if all that stuff was not there but it is and when you do encounter a scene with a pristine grass area , well then that elevates the image to Great from really good. Excellent capture however the final version ends up. Regards,

Monika, I really like your idea of cloning the log out or concealing it some how. Great alternative to the crop, thanks.

Oops, Amy, I wrote "Alisa" (so you're in good company) with that great photo, because Alisa made the previous comment.

Lovely image - and the natural looking exposure is critical to make this look right - if you had pulled it up it would not have conveyed the proper time of day as well. Really a great job! I agree on somehow losing the log at the bottom (crop or clone), although it is not a big issue either way for me.
