Thanks Jim - I'm always on the hunt for scenes like this. These sorts of scenes don't exist in the deserts environments I lived in prior to moving up to the Pacific NW :cool:

I like this. The pink dots (not sure what they are) makes this image for me. And I like your title as well.
Thanks Jameel - no clue what the little pink spheres are beyond being some flavor of fungi that appears to be happy on rotting wood. I decided they were worth a shot just because they seemed mysterious.

I don't know what I'm looking at but it's very colorful and interesting.
Thanks Joe - I have tried to identify the small pink spheres a couple of times now but to no avail. The rest are varying forms of fungi that thrive on breaking down damp and rotting wood like this. Maybe the pink thingies are eggs left by aliens in anticipations of the upcoming invasion :p
