A couple of Recent Astro Shots no tracker!

Umm - am I reading this right - you shot that first image with a 50mm lens? I didn't think that was possible without a telephoto lens. Wow.

Hey Graeme! I have been missing you and was about to send you a message. 
This is so cool to see, both are great images. It's pretty cool how a few areas, like the Orion Area can actually be photographed without a tracker. That's something I had never realized before I had gotten into Deep Space Astro. So this is a good reminder for some of our members who may want to shoot some Deep Space but think they can't since they don't have a tracker.
I like how you set up #2 with that pathway leading into the image. Great job with this, and the glow from Dublin seems pretty minimal, so you must have tamed it nicely in processing.

Thanks Jim. I had a star adventurer (2nd hand) and turned out to be faulty. I ordered a new one which turned up before Christmas eventually but I've had little chance to use it due to bad weather. I also can't seem to get the tracking accurately aligned whenever I get the chance to use it unfortunately. Its all down to lack of practice I think on my part and could do with someone showing me how to do it in the field as for the life of me I can't understand where I am going wrong! C'est La vie. In other news still no Benro Polaris unit although they are finally shipping so you never know... only 12 months late and still in Beta mode!

Thos are great - and I am not sure most folks can appreciate being able to capture Barnard's Loop (a very faint structure) without tracking. Great work indeed.
