A Couple of Seestar Captures

After a looooonnnnnggggg spate of cloudy nights, the arrival of autumn has meant that we once again have clear skies over southern New Zealand. This coincided with ZWO introducing an update to the software for their smart telescopes that allows mosaics and rotation, as well as for it to be aligned with the celestial pole, which means longer exposures are possible without introducing field rotation. At the same time, they introduced an ability to plan captures without having to tend the scope yourself, so I have been able to shoot quite a few targets over the past few weeks.

Oh man, you are killing it with the S50! I finally got a chance to set mine back up again as clouds and travel have been getting in the way for the last few months. But mine gave me issues with not wanting to track, so in the end I got it going in EQ mode with 10 sec subs to keep the elongated stars at a minimum. I just now shut it down and am about to jump into bed.

I like all of your images here, again such really top notch work on the details. The Tarantula one is the one that makes me the most jealous as it's one I can't get from here. And also you really nailed that. I am not sure I have seen it captured as well as you did here on a regular astro rig before. I just love the detail in it.
