So on this trip, we got to experiance what the tour comapany calls, "a day in the life of an Egyptian". We did the same in Jordan, but they were more considered a middle class family. The Egyption family we visited was located in a small farming village near Luxor. Quite a humbuling experience. Very friendly and hospital with there lives and homes. And the food was wonderful. The little girl posted in "Portraits" was from this family. Truly a unique experience allowing me to going back in time, all images unedited from my cellphone.
Enjoy going back in time with me!

Looks like a pretty neat experience. Rural Egypt looked like a place that time forgot about when I worked there for a while in the 1970s. Once we got out of Cairo and were out on the eastern part of the Nile Delta we could see families out working their fields by hand with the family cow hitched up to a water wheel irrigating the crops. Scenes that looked almost exactly like the carved reliefs and murals on the tombs of the Pharaohs.

One of the things that was considered off limits was aiming your camera at a women. Obviously there has been a change of attitudes likely due to phone cameras becoming so ubiquitous these days including amongst the residents.

With this family, they welcomed it, but we had to ask permission 1st

What a very cool experience Ed! It reminds me of when I went to the Philippines and I spent a lot of time just experiencing how the average person lives. So this must have been super cool. I like the images you captured.
