A Good Start to the Day

Yesterday morning I saw what looked like good sky conditions for a colorful sunrise so I grabbed my drone and sent it up for a better view. We had a storm front moving in so there was a big shield of clouds moving in from the west with clear conditions to the east. This was the view with a 70mm lens from about 100' above the ground when I first launched the drone. The leading edge of the wide cloud shield wasn't being lit up by the sun yet but there were some nice colors on the horizon near Mt. Hood and there was a neat layer of fog down near ground level. More to come as I start processing some panorama sequences I shot when the sky got fully lit.

Very nice. I like the low fog at the tree top height reflecting the light.
Thanks Jameel - that was what hit me when I started looking around at the view just over the houses and trees. This was taken about 30 seconds into the flight with a color show that lasted for another 20 minutes or so.
