A Little Snow in the Gorge

A shot from a couple of years ago not long after some low elevation snow fell in the Columbia River Gorge. While there is always plenty of snow at higher elevations in the Cascade Range the river in this area is only barely above sea level with flat water between here and the Pacific Ocean near Astoria. We might get some snow next week in this area so I am keeping an eye out for the potential photo opportunities. Shot at 162mm with my old Mavic 3 drone.

The snow is really cool! It adds a great touch.
Thanks Jim - wide vistas in the Gorge during the winter months can be a bit on the drab side and the snow cover livens things up. It usually doesn't last long once the storms that delivered it break up.

Nice view with the dusting on the peaks.
Thanks Jameel - I'd love a chance for another shot at scenes like this in the Gorge with the Mavic 3 Pro. The Air 2 camera was much better than the 162mm lens on the original Mavic 3. I got really horrible color shifts with this lens including the original RAW image of the scene above. Supposedly the 166mm lens on our Mavic 3 Pros is the same sensor as the older 162mm but the RAW images from each have nothing in common at all. Most of the images I took using the 162mm lens on this particular day are almost unworkable.
