A Plum of a Blossom

My daughter has a couple of small bushes growing in the front yard of her house. Not sure if they are intentional or accidental from the kids planting seeds, I need to ask my daughter later. This one is a Plum tree I think, though its only about 3 feet tall and looks more like a bush then a tree.

When I saw the blooms, I thought it would be a great test of the macro like ability of the Tamron 50-400mm at close focus distance. This was at 50mm I think.

I added a crop to show the detail. I am not sure this would replace a dedicated macro lens for those who like to shoot a lot of macro, but for someone like me that just occasionally likes to take some closeup photos I think it's perfect.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

#1 - Original. I liked the way the background kind of did a bit of a spiral.

That's a lot of blooms for such a young tree. More like what I would expect from a full grown specimen. Nice closeups.

We have a ton of plum trees in my area and when the blossoms drop it almost looks like snowfall. The ones up here have a bit more purple in their colors than what you are showing here. Don't park your car under one in the spring - the fallen blossoms can leave stains :)
