A Rocky IR + Edit

A Rocky Mountain IR that is. This is from Rocky Mountain National Park the other day. As I was heading back down the next morning after the Milky Way from Trail Ridge Road, I saw this tree on my left as I was going down and also saw there was a pullout there. So after making a U-Turn, I went back there to capture this along with my Grandson Caleb, who was borrowing my iPhone 15 Pro Max to photograph with.

I did the false color on this, and not the Aerochrome look. I guess I needed a change of pace.

Nikon D7100 converted to 590nm

Thanks Alan. It might be a bit dark. It's one of those images where when I brightened it, even though the histogram looked okay, the highlights felt too bright. And if I did highlight recovery for the highlights it brought the whole histogram down with it. Maybe I will go back and brighten it up a stop and see how it looks.

I like the palette. to my eye it doesnt look dark. infact a darker sky would look better.

Thanks Jameel. And I like your idea about darkening the sky. I was just about to open it back up to check the brightness in Photoshop, let me see if I can darken the sky and have it look good still.

Thanks Alan, I used a Color Range mask in Photoshop to isolate the sky from the clouds.
