A Scene Along the North Fork - Old Growth

Interesting to see the mix of maples and firs along the creek.
Thanks Jameel - I noticed the maples along almost every creek in the old growth forests whenever the creek is wide enough to create a break in the conifer canopy. Turns out it's an easy way to identify where the larger creeks are from the air.

The drone’s perspective creates a beautiful composition. Love the colors.
Thanks John - the drone is the only way I even get to see the overall forest and terrain in these mountains. From the road all you can see is tree trunks and there are no viewpoints that let you gaze out over the forest. This is one of the main reasons I took up flying a drone :)

This.... I think might be my favorite of this series. It's really perfect.

Have you tried using a polarizer on the lenses? I flew with one on mine for a long time, but then I found it was vignetting a bit in one corner so I removed it.

Thanks Jim - this one really shows off the height of the firs compared to the maples. I played around with polarizers back when I first got an Air 2 drone but abandoned them almost immediately. When I use one on the ground I always adjust it for the sun angle of each shot. That thought is laughable when I am shooting in the air since I would have to land the drone to tweak the polarizer for each shot. That just didn't fit into my workflow shooting with a drone at all.

I think a cpl with max affect works well with a drone when sky is not involved. Helps with color on foliage as well as enhance or avoid reflections.

The cpl+nd combos are quite popular with video guys.

I had it on my air 2s which I lost. Didn’t get one for the m3p.

I have read a lot of reasons for NDs for video work since it allows you to set up ideal frame rates under certain lighting conditions. Not something I pay a lot of attention to with my primary focus on still photography.
