Abstract Prismatic

At the end of September, my wife and I journeyed across the country to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We spent a week camping at the Madison River Campground right before they closed for the season. It was a time of change at the park as winter closed in quickly. The hot springs were completely covered in a thick mist/fog for a good portion of the day until temps rose as they were in the 20's at daybreak. This provided some interesting opportunities. We walked the boardwalk at Grand Prismatic springs one morning and I was afforded some abstract opportunities. I was shooting film during this time, portra 160 on a canon 7ne with a 24-105L lens. Here are a few images from this trip that I have yet to share. It was all about the lines, textures and soft colors.

and one from just outside the spring, a couple hundred yards away.

Hey Jon,

#3 is my favorite. It's so hard to tell where the ground ends and the sky begins, that is if there really is sky in it... :)

I also like #1, though I would suggest cropping part of the top off to lose the curved line going across. I think if all you had was the straight squiggly lines leading from bottom to the top, it was be a lot cooler.
