After the Snow

Another photo from last weekend in Northern Colorado after a day and night of snow. I was excited, about the snow. I know not everyone gets excited about snow falling, but it's another one of my oddities in that I love snow, I love shoveling snow, I love everything about snow. That's probably my Minnesota blood showing through, but that's the way I am.

So while it was snowing, I was really excited about the possibilities of getting some cool photos. On this particular day I mixed in running with photography. As I was running the snow filled trails of a local nature area, I would stop when I saw something that caught my eye. So perhaps not the most productive running session, but I had just gotten back to Colorado from California, so I needed to ease into the altitude increase of going from Sea Level to 6000 feet anyway, so it worked out well.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

I like the pastels in the sky with the cold atmospherics - that complements the fresh snow nicely.

I loved shoveling snow when I lived in Utah up until the last of the 30 years I lived there. That said a 70' long driveway that widened to accommodate a two car garage and my house on one side meant all the snow had to go over to the far side of the driveway. Even with a two stage snowblower that got to be pretty old and my enthusiasm waned by a considerable margin by the time we migrated. I'm quite happy I don't have to shovel rain these days and the few days I actually do have to shovel here in the NW don't seem as onerous.

Beautiful pastels in the sky enhances the snow cover landscape which reflects some of the colors from the sky.

Thanks Alan.

A 70 foot long driveway is a bit long! I might have to rethink my love for shoveling in that case too. :)
