Afternoon Clouds at the Colorado Sandunes

I like the effect of the sun angle on the dunes in the first image along with the clouds as a backdrop. Nice view of the storm in the second image.

Larry, I like these cloudy dunes images, especially the first. I hope Kathleen escaped the approaching storm in the second image—also very nice. BTW, what is the “square blue area” above her head? See below:

Hi John, thanks for your comments and observation regarding the blue square over Kathleen's head in the second image. That was a blending artifact that I missed. I think I will reprocess the 2 files or take out the square by removing it in Photoshop. Thanks again! ;)

Very well done, I like how you worked the foreground in #1, and a great job capturing that storm in #2. That area can definitely get some crazy storms.

Thanks Jim for your comments, appreciated! ;)

The weather that day was crazy, an early sand storm made photography impossible and a series of rain storms in the afternoon caused several runs to the car for cover. After the storms blew through and sun came out and provided great afternoon light! :)
