Hi Alan yes this is a great area to snowshoe or cross-country ski. The easy access is through Georgetown, Colorado from the north or from hiwy 285 at Grant, Colorado on the south side. The road is paved all the way, which is nice and a great improvement over the dirt road that was available a few years ago.Serenity! Looks like it would be an awesome place to ski tour. Where is this Larry?
Thanks Alan for the comments, appreciated! the elevation of the pass is 11,669 ft.What's the elevation of this pass? The thin tree cover suggests over 10,000ft. Beautiful view.
Pass me the oxygen bottleThanks Alan for the comments, appreciated! the elevation of the pass is 11,669 ft.![]()
Thanks Jameel, comments appreciated!Nice and serene view.
Thanks Jim for the nice comments and spelling check (corrected). Boreas Pass is a nice one and also one of my favorites and there are so many great and photogenic passes in Colorado; my favorite is the one I am about to traverse at any time!Very nice view Larry, I like that pass a lot, though not as much as Boreas Pass.
FYI, it's Guanella Pass with a G.
Thanks Peter for your nice comments, appreciated! That pass is over 11,000 ft and very cold and deep snow in the winter! I have been up there in the winter and it is not a fun place to be .. and yes offers some beautiful photo ops if you can handle the weather!Beautiful Larry! Almost a panorama. But you got ahead of winter with this beautiful shot.![]()
