Alnwick Castle

Tuesday's trip out to photograph Puffins led me close to Alnwick ( The l and w are silent and the stress is on the A [Anick] ). Probably more famous as a film set for the Harry Potter films it is a stunning castle (11thC) and the 2nd largest inhabited castle in England. Ken

Almost looks like something out of a painting with the castle being in such good condition after all these centuries. You picked a great time to visit this place with the lighting and atmospherics. Beautiful.

Thanks for including the pronunciation. I would not have guessed how it was spoken. And I really am impressed with how huge this castle is! Most of the castles I recall seeing when I was in the UK were ruins, and also pretty small compared to this one.

Thank you Jim, the castle is in wonderful condition. I have placed the tree to hide modern accommodation that “spoiled” the medieval look. Ken
