You must have photographed just about every bird on the island
Another great set with some really unique birds. I love the Grey Heron and the Purple Sunbird.
Thank you Alan. There are a lot of different birds on Sri Lanka, from Wikipedia 'The bird life of Sri Lanka is very rich for its size and 528 species have been recorded. In addition to the many resident birds, a considerable number of migratory species winter in the country to escape their northern breeding grounds.' so I had a lot to find
That is quite a variety and it looks like Sri Lanka is a bird photographer's candy store.
Thank you Jameel, it was quite good but I have been to better places for birds.
Kevin, these birds are very pretty, I have never seen a grey heron before. Thanks for sharing.
Oliver
Thank you Oliver. They are very common
'The grey heron is a long-legged wading bird of the heron family, Ardeidae, native throughout temperate Europe and Asia, and also parts of Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but some populations from the more northern parts migrate southwards in autumn.

Stellar bird photography, Kevin
Thank you Eric
Lovely pictures, how do you manage to get such clean backgrounds?
Thank you Jon. A lot of luck, a small aperture and a little bit of photoshop to remove the odd branch or two
