Another go at the Orion Nebula. Alt/Az, 10 minutes total data at 10s exposures with the Seestar S30 Pro. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight and Lightroom. Amazing little scope.
Thanks so much Jim! I think I’ve developed my process but there are always surprises. I still balance off how much I do in Pixinsight vs Lightroom. My photography processing has reallly helped. This is really nice Bob. This may be a new scope, but your growth in processing is shown here. All of the nice feathery details that almost always gets crushed in our early days learning astrophotography is a great sign of your growth.
The S30 Pro is going to be a lot quicker to set up then your Origin, and it's easier to travel with. Is your Origin getting any use, or what's your thoughts on it compared to the S30 Pro?
Hey Bob, I still use Pixinsight first and process it to the point of removing the stars. I then take it into Photoshop as I have so many years of using it, and the masks are so much easier to create there. So I do most of the "editing" on the object itself in Photoshop, and once I like it, I take back into Pixinsight to put the stars back in as I have a nice routine setup in there from removing and adding the stars in StarXterminator. Thanks so much Jim! we’ve had so many cloudy days/nights that the Origin has had little use. In fact, while it’s set up for EQ mode it’s a heavy rig especially compared to a Seestar. So I might put it back to Alt/Az which will help me use it more often.
