Arizona Rocks in IR!

I am up to March as I go back through my missed images from 2024. This is from an area that I stop at a lot, it's along the I-40 just at the Arizona and New Mexico border. It's got such a fun backdrop with those cliffs.

Nikon D7100 converted to 590nm IR

Interesting color palette on the rocks and foliage. A bit strange in the clouds. Perhaps making the clouds into monochrome?

Thanks Jameel. When I did decrease the contrast in the sky but not for the clouds, but because of the cyan cast in it. But I didn't like it, without some color in the sky, then it looks like a half color and half B&W image. Felt really fake. So then I looked at the sky some more, and only decreased the cyan saturation and then I noticed the bottom of the clouds were reflecting the IR and I thought I would try pushing the saturation in the sky (while decreasing the cyan). I liked it a lot.

So that's good to know it didn't appeal to you, but I thought it made for a bit of a different IR image having the IR reflect off the clouds.

Nice color and clouds. Always nice when you have an interesting sky. The horses seem interested in the rocks also!
