As the Storm Lifted

The scene after a storm lifted along the southern Oregon coast at Harris Beach State Park from a couple of years back. Early spring can offer up some dramatic atmospherics along the coast with lots of storms but also quite a few breaks for scenes like this. Single shot at 24mm from my old Mavic Air 2 drone.

That's quite the view Alan! It's interesting that the ocean is clear of low clouds/fog, they are only over the land.

Thanks Jim - it is actually clearing from the direction of the storm path which is coming off the ocean. It did clear off over the land by mid afternoon.

Very nice scene Alan. What impressed me the most was the beautiful color of the sea in the foreground with its many ripples.
Thanks Peter - from the air the color of the Pacific ocean takes on a decidedly different hue than what is seen from the shoreline on the ground. The swells are actually on the calm side considering this is the tail end of a storm but that was a good thing since the wind was calm enough for me to fly and get this shot.

gorgeous, love the inland fog. the air2 is the drone i fly most, we keep 2 for indoor training. we thought about swapping them out with minis to use the rcpro, but the air2 is bigger and more difficult to fly up staircases and through doors.

Thanks! My primary intent with flying is the photography and that was one area where the air 2 didn't exactly shine. This particular specimen went off to Alaska with Jameel after he lost his Air 2s right before leaving on his trip. It has found another home yet since then after he got a Mavic 3 Pro. I would definitely want an older cheap drone to try flying your indoor obstacle course 'cuz I am pretty sure I wouldn't make a clean pass without some practice.

Thanks - the trick to getting useful results out of the camera was to always use 48MP mode and use DxO PureRAW to clean up the mess the little 1/2" sensor left behind. Moving up to the Mavic 3 and later on the Mavic 3 Pro was a huge upgrade from a photo perspective.
