Astilbe

One really delicate bloom in our garden is Astilbe. This is a member of the Saxifragaceae family with lots of variants both in the wild as well as cultivars. Common names include false goat's beard and false spirea. I have no idea what the specific variant name is for the ones we are growing.

That is one really pretty flower. It does look delicate and it reminds me of a fern, but with flowers instead of leaves.

Thanks Jim - the leaves of this plant are visible in the background in both images but in the first image shows them better. The images are larger than life as the blooms are quite small.
