Thanks so much Alan. It's not as natural of a background as I would have wished, but it worked.I like this. I was looking for some context this morning for shooting this but had no form of backlighting to make it work.
Hey Kyle, just the slightest bit of blending all from one raw just to pull the highlight's down a bit in the lights and the very left side of the moon. And I just used the Ctrl + Alt + 2 short cut in Photoshop I have the Tutorial on in the Article section. I think I will chalk up how the moon was handled simply from the new D850. It is really looking like a champ with night shots.Is this a blend? I'd love to hear how you got the moon in there without a big white halo around it (experience from previous eclipses...)
I guess I didn't think about it too much, but even that tighter shot I have of the blood moon that I posted was just 1 raw image and there was no issues at all with halo's either around it either. I am really liking the DR of the D850 sensor so far.That makes sense. It looked like it could be a single raw but I wasn't sure about the dynamic range.
