It amazes me too. Other then the tracker, and it's a cheap tracker in reality, everything I use is gear that most every photographer has. I would never have imagined I could get images like this out of such regular old gear. Hopefully it can encourage a few others to try it.

They also glow in Hα - see my version of this object for reference. I mixed in data from my Hα filter to the regulatr LRGB data to acentuate those regions:

I think I had not fixed the mirror image characteristic of my astro camera on this target when when I posted it here, but you get the idea. The pink blobs in the arms are star forming regions...

So that's what they are! I am pretty sure I had read that or someone had told me that before. Of course I am equally sure I had forgotten it until now. :) So I appreciate the reminder of what those are.

BTW, this is the type of extra detail an Hα modified DSLR might bring out a little better :)
