Muskrats diets consist of vegetation of cattails,, roots, waterlilies and pond weed. They will eat snails, mussels, salamanders, crustaceans, fish, young birds and sometimes resort to cannibalism. This muskrat is feasting at the edge of Dead River in Ellsworth, ME.
