Thanks Alan for your comments, appreciated! And your are right the bristle cone pines always point away from the wind direction as part of their survival mechanism!

Hi Jim Mt Bross is a hard place to find, the Bristlecone Pine Scenic Area is not on recent maps, although it was on older state maps. When you arrive at the small parking lot for the Scenic Area the only sign there says take only photographs and leave only foot steps.
