Burr Trail - Reward Offered !

This butte, along the Burr Trail in Utah was captured last Friday. It was all fun and games up to that point. I was cruising in my pickup truck, camera bag riding shotgun, on a sunny day with some good clouds. Then I lost my phone.

I remember making a photo with it then placing it on the hood of my truck while I reached for my "real camera" and tripod. Later on down the road (after the switchbacks) and almost to HWY 24, I reached for my phone and it was not to be found. I filed a lost phone report at the Capitol Reef Visitor Center and have been calling them and emailing them since, but they are not getting back to me. I had to buy a new phone in Salt Lake so I could make calls and navigate - they had to transfer my number to the new phone so now pinging it won't work.

If you're near Boulder, Utah or driving the Burr Trail soon, look for a blue phone laying near the road somewhere above the switchbacks near any photogenic rocks that are there. $100 reward. Fingers crossed.

I like the diagonal that separates the ground from the sky.

Bummer about the phone. I hope some kind soul finds it and it finds its way back to you.
Thanks Jameel. You and me both. I can't believe the impact it's had.
Oh man! Sorry to hear about your phone, what a pain!!

But what a great photo!
Thanks Jim. I think I will have my new phone surgically implanted so I can't lose it.

Did you have a loss policy that covered your phone? With the cost of the current generation of phones it seems prudent to me anymore. I carry a personal items policy on all of my camera gear including my drones just in case.

Nice photo BTW.

Beautiful, Michael; Utah really does have stunning colors—that’s what draws people in, I suppose—though I would miss the lush, rich greenery.
