Cake!

Tried to do a pro shot of this 'French Apple Cake' I made yesterday (my mom's recipe which I've been testing and modifying - this one came out the best!). I used diffused natural light on this, DIY style, by putting the cake on a white table out on the balcony in the sun and suspending a light-colored sheet over it. Had to work against external factors like our cat who was highly interested in the meringue.

Food photography is surprisingly hard. I don't typically shoot my own baking or cooking because it just takes too long when it's time to eat

The easy out is to eat a piece and then shoot what's left - oh wait.....

Food photography is an art form that can be lucrative for those who are really good at it - study grocery store advertising for examples.
