Cascade Sunrise

Got treated to a nice colorful sunrise yesterday morning so I sent my drone up for a better view. It was still a bit on the dark side and I decided to not try hard on recovering the shadows and leave the focus on the skyline and the cloud color show. Single shot at 70mm.

C&C always welcome.

The color parade continues, another awesome sunrise! It must be great to see a sunrise about to explode, and already be in position to capture it without having to drive somewhere first.

Thanks Michael - we haven't had a lot of colorful sunrises this month so I try to be ready to dash out the door when we do. I can be up in the air in about 2 minutes once I see promising skies out my kitchen window.

Nice color show and cloud patterns. I like keeping the ground dark in this rendering. Haven’t had anything here since that foggy sunrise. Some mild colors in the morning and then mostly naked skies. It has been a pretty dry and cold January so far.

Thanks Jameel - I have just had two colorful sunrises this month so far and it was 25ºF when I went out to shoot this one yesterday. Back to naked skies this morning.

Hi Alan. In the morning temperature of 25°F, it photographs quite well. And the result is excellent! I like this sky and its good proportionality to the land. The darker presentation of the landscape does not hinder anything, it is a very nice picture. 🤞

Thanks Peter - this time of year with the cold temps we get more clear skies than during the summer months so sunrise colors and the distant mountain silhouettes are much more distinct.
