I am planning a trip from White Pocket to Hanksville via hwy 95. I will stop one night at one of the above places. Of course I will stop at all three going through, but I can only spend the night at one of them. So this is more about which place is the best for sunrise/sunset?

1. Muley Point
2. Cedar Mesa
3. Valley of the Gods.

Muley Point gives you an overlook for both sunrise and sunset and sunrise will be coming up right over over Valley of the Gods. Muley Point is at the southern end of Cedar Mesa and is probably one of the best viewpoints from there anyway.

I am going with Muley Point also. Valley of Gods is cool and all, but I personally haven't seen a lot of my own photos that I like from there. Not sure if it's because of the cliffs, or what, but it always has felt less accessible and less flexible to good camera angles.

I'll go with Muley Point as well. It's just so exciting to be up there with such spectacular views. Of course you won't get any close up or near elements except the cliff edge, so it is a grand landscape location. I have used long telephotos there and it was a lot of fun.

Ben, you will also be able to get out there when the roads to the other places are impassable. Probably ;)

Hi Monica, my truck is pretty capable. I think if I can get to White Pocket, the rest will be easy. I also have Cathedral Valley on my itinerary.
